"What is it to be English", is an oft-asked question these days, and the multitude of answers given suggest there is no single attribute that defines an Englishman (or woman) but if i was to single out one particular attribute it would be a sense of 'fair play.'
That 'old Corinthian spirit' which demands you "play up, play up, and play the game!" (It's such a shame we're so bloody rubbish at cricket nowadays, *sigh*)
